A PT TJP employee named Anselmus Arfin (25) was shot dead by an armed criminal group (
KKB
) in the Regency
Intan Jaya
, Central Papua, Wednesday (8/10) at around 10.20 WIT.
The shooting occurred when the victim and four of his colleagues were using a tractor to measure roads in the border area of Ndugusiga and Bambu Kuning Villages.
Then, a single gunshot was heard from the left side of the road and it hit the victim’s left chest and penetrated his back.

After that, the victim’s colleague, Muhammad Rasyid, and other employees immediately evacuated the victim to Sugapa Regional Hospital, Intan Jaya Regency.However, the victim was declared dead due to the gunshot wound he suffered.
“The armed crimes carried out by the KKB not only claimed the lives of civilians who were working to develop their region, but also hampered the process of accelerating development in Papua,” said Head of Cartenz Peace Operations, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani in his statement, Wednesday.
“The state will not back down in ensuring security and sustainable development in this region,” he continued.
After the incident, personnel from the Cartenz Peace Ops Task Force immediately carried out a chase with the TNI and some carried out monitoring at Sugapa Hospital and coordinated with the company.
From initial monitoring, the shooting was suspected to have been carried out by the KKB group led by Daniel Aibon Kogoya, which often operates and causes mischief in the Intan Jaya area.
Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Cartenz Peace Operations, Kombes Adarma Sinaga, said that his party had increased security around the incident location and taken law enforcement steps against the perpetrators.
“We have placed personnel at a number of vulnerable points and strengthened patrols so that similar incidents do not happen again. The team is also conducting an investigation to reveal the identity of the perpetrator group and the network involved,” he said.
Furthermore, the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force is committed to continuing to maintain security and take firm action against armed criminals who attempt to disrupt security stability and hinder development in the Land of Papua.
