Former Indonesian national team coach,
Shin Tae Yong
(STY), can only accept the fact that Ulsan Hyundai’s contract has been terminated even though he has only coached the club for 65 days.
Shin was officially fired by Ulsan on Thursday (9/10) afternoon. This contract termination was carried out because Ulsan could not recover from difficult times and is now in danger of relegation.
“Even though it was sudden, I had no choice but to follow the club’s decision. I was suddenly appointed to Ulsan and did my best. However, there were many burdensome situations.”

“I tried to change the team amidst many difficulties in Ulsan, but the challenges were very difficult. It’s really unfortunate,” said Shin as quoted by Chosun, Thursday (9/10).
Shin was contracted by Ulsan, after being fired by PSSI on January 5 2025, on August 6 2025. Shin replaced former Malaysian coach Kim Pan Gon who was fired on August 3 2025.
Initially, Shin’s work with Ulsan went smoothly. He made his debut with a win. However, after that, Ulsan went seven times in a row without winning (3 draws and 4 defeats).
From a total of 10 matches, before the international break, Shin could only present two wins for Ulsan. This forced Shin’s work in Ulsan to end.
For a while, Ulsan was handled by Noh Sang Rae.He is a very experienced coach in the South Korean League.Noh will act as coach until a new coach is appointed.
