“Following up on the direction of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro, we together with Satpol PP monitored the use of attributes and flags that were not in accordance with the spirit of nationalism, including flags with the theme of pirates or fiction,” said Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Ruslan Basuki in his statement on Tuesday (5/8).
Ruslan said that until now there has been no law action against the people who put up the non-state flag.
According to him, this monitoring was carried out as part of educational and persuasion efforts to the community.
“We have not found an element of criminal violation. However, people who are found to have put up a non-state flag will be an appeal to be wiser and respect the symbols of state,” he said.
Ruslan said that the Metro Jakapus Police Chief also invited the public to enliven independence day by promoting national values.
“The red and white flag is a symbol of the struggle and unifying the nation. Let’s respect by raising it in each environment, as a form of love for the motherland,” he said.
The raising of the One Piece flag in a number of areas recently taken from the Japanese Anime and Manga series by Eiichiro Oda with the same title.
In the series, a specific One Piece flag is a straw hat pirate crew flag, symbolized as a symbol of freedom and resistance to the world government.
