A Minke type of whale was found dead in the Bay of Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, on Saturday (2/8), after being hit by a ship.
The appearance of the whale was first reported by the New Jersey Police Maritime Unit.
Shortly thereafter, a ship accidentally hit him.
This incident almost made the ship upside down and caused one of the passengers to plunge into the sea, although not suffered serious injuries.
Whale wreck was then moved on Monday (4/8) for a necropsy process to find out the exact cause of his death.
Responding to this incident, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC) appealed to sailors to remain vigilant and keep a minimum distance of 45 meters from the wrap.
