Toho officially reveals the film’s title
Godzilla
the latest after the success of Minus One.At the annual Godzilla Fest in Tokyo, an upcoming project was announced titled Godzilla -0.0 (
Godzilla Minus Zero
).
The film will be re-written, directed by Yamazaki Takashi, who also supervised VFX with Shirogumi after Godzilla Minus One (2023).Toho Co., LTD will again produce and distribute the film.

on Monday (3/10) reported that Godzilla -0.0 hinted at a continuation of Yamazaki’s Minus saga.The storyline and release date of the film have not been announced.
Godzilla -0.0 (Godzilla Minus Zero) was announced two years after Godzilla Minus One.The film is set in Japan after World War II and focuses on a former kamikaze pilot who survives a near-fatal encounter with Godzilla and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
When the giant monster reappears years later, a group of soldiers and veterans must band together to defeat the monster before it can destroy Japan.

Godzilla Minus One stars Kamiki Ryunosuke, Hamabe Minami, Yamada Yuki, Aoki Munetaka, Yoshioka Hidetaka, Ando Sakura, and Sasaki Kuranosuke.
Released in Japan in November 2023, the film grossed over 7.65 billion yen and made it the highest-grossing Japanese live-action Godzilla film of all time.
In North America, the film grossed US$56 million, making it the highest-grossing Japanese-language live-action film of all time.
The film then made history at the 96th Academy Awards by winning the Oscar for best visual effects.
The win made Minus One the first Godzilla film ever nominated for an Academy Award and the first Japanese film to win in the category.
The franchise began in 1954 with IshirÅ Honda’s Godzilla, a grim allegory for nuclear annihilation that introduced audiences to the radioactive reptile that would become Japan’s most enduring pop culture export.
Since then, Toho has produced 33 live-action Godzilla films across various eras, such as Showa, Heisei, Millennium, and now Reiwa.Meanwhile American studio utu has released five additional titles, including Legendary’s MonsterVerse.
