, I wanted to bring a 12-year-old player into the U-16 2025 Women’s AFF Cup.
Timo explained that the AFF Cup at the age group was a level to form a solid squad in the future.The Indonesian Putri U-16 national team consists of a combination of players who have participated in defending Indonesia at the age of 20 years and some are players who have never competed in the international event.
“The players are still very young, so it must be understood that this is not a senior interim match. Most of them are also the first time they enter the national team level.”
“There is something we took from the U-20, they have participated there and are experienced. But most of them have no experience, this is our future player,” he explained.
Timo even explained that there was a desire to bring a 12 -year -old player because he had potential, but his intention was hit by the tournament rules.
“In fact, we actually want to show some players who are 12 years old, but not in accordance with AFF regulations finally can’t. Princess soccer is indeed uphill and the one below is good at, but they need a time anyway,” explained Timo.
“Even those who come down from the U-20 they also need time because they are 15-16 years old now entering the last phase of their formation so that they can develop well so that our senior teams will get better,” he continued.
The Indonesian Putri U-16 national team is in the same group with Timor Leste and Malaysia in the AFF Cup Group U-16 2025 Phase.
Timo’s foster children will face Timor Leste in the match that took place at Manahan Stadium, Surakarta, Wednesday (8/20) night.Furthermore, the duel against Malaysia will take place in the same place on Sunday (8/24).
