Eri Cahyadi asserted there was no official ban related to the raising of the Jolly Roger flag from the anime series
One Piece
in the area.
However, he appealed to residents to prioritize the raising of the Red and White flag during the moment of the commemoration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
“The one that is one piece flag is actually not there is prohibited. Is it putting on an anime flag, like I’m Senengane (like I like) Naruto, I’m Tuku Dewe (buying myself) Naruto. Actually there is no prohibition on being installed,” Eri said, Tuesday (5/8).
Although not forbidding, Eri hopes that all citizens can understand that the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia Anniversary is a sacred moment, so that only the Red and White flag and the symbol of the state should be displayed in the public space.
“Therefore, I ask the citizens of Surabaya, not ono (no) the prohibition indeed, do you want the flag of Naruto sampean kekno (you give), the anime flag one piece sampean, there are rules for the prohibition?
Eri stated that the steps to reduce the flag and removal of the One Piece mural at a number of points in Surabaya were not forced forms, but the results of the persuasive approach carried out by the Surabaya City Government.
“Yes, we give understanding. After being given the understanding of Alhamdulillah they understand and be revealed and deleted. That is the role of the government, the role of citizens, the role of the media to provide learning, provide education,” he said.
Eri also emphasized that so far there has been no rejection from residents for the control.Conversely, residents actually welcome the educational approach taken by the government.
“Alhamdulillah, not onok (no) [who refused to be disciplined],” he said when asked about the possibility of residents’ rejection.
Furthermore, he reminded that education is the key so that citizens understand the importance of maintaining the country’s symbol during the commemoration of Independence Day, or in this case the red and white flag.
“So that’s where I will convey that is our educational to citizens. People not all understand, sorry not all understand what. The presence of the government to give that understanding,” Eri said.
According to him, there is no strong reason for residents about the installation of anime flags other than just like.However, he stressed the importance of respecting independence by raising the red and white flag.
“So given the understanding, Iki (this) birthday of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia Yo Merah Putih is Kibarno (flying),” he concluded.
Previously, the Surabaya City Government disciplined six points in the installation of Jolly Roger skull flags from the One Piece anime series found in a number of areas in recent days.
Head of the Surabaya City National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol), Tundjung Iswandaru said, the six locations consisted of flags that were hoisted, as well as murals painted on road paving.
“There were six locations earlier. There were flags, some were paving,” Tundjung said, Tuesday (5/8).
One of the murals was found in Tambak Asri, Krembangan District.While the flag raising is recorded in the Sukolilo region.
Tundjung said the control was carried out persuasively.The flag was revealed by the authorities, but with the approval and initiative of the owner.

As for the one piece flag image on the village road paving, according to Tundjung, the mural has been re -painted.

“It’s not because he wants to oppose it, I don’t think so, but they don’t know, join in,” Tundjung said.
