, The Netherlands has allocated funds up to 100,000 euros or Rp1.9 billion to install stairs along the city center canal to help cats out of water.
This small wooden ladder aims to save cats and other animals so as not to sink in areas with high canal walls.
According to the Animal Welfare Organization Amsterdam is remedied, as many as 19 cats have drowned in the city canal in the last six months, six of them in the city center.

(PVDD) proposed that Amsterdam use 100,000 unused funds from the city biodiversity plan to finance the saving points of these wild animals.
Animal Welfare Council member Zita Pels, previously supported the plan but noted that “funds are still lacking,” PVDD said.On July 10, the Amsterdam City Council gave a vote to support the motion proposed by Judith Krom.

The Dutch capital will cooperate with the terminal to identify the area where the cat is most likely to sink before the saving route of the small animal is installed.The stairs will then be built in the most risky locations at the end of this year to help the cat return to the mainland safely.
Other cities also took similar steps
Amsterdam is not the only city that takes steps to improve the safety of channels for animals.
In June, Amersfoort, a nearby city in the Netherlands, announced the construction of around 300 cat ladders along the dock and its chairman this year.
“Unfortunately, animals that fall into the water in the area with a pier or high pier wall cannot come out and then sink,” said Amersfoort Council member, Johnas van Lammeren.
