Thai women’s national team is not strengthened by players who have a career abroad alias abroad at
Women’s AFF Cup 2025
.In the first match Thailand will be against Indonesia.
Thailand will fight Indonesia in the opening match of Group A at Haiphong Stadium, Vietnam on Wednesday (6/8) at 16:30 WIB and will be broadcast live RCTI.
Thailand’s women’s national team coach Futoshi Ikeda revealed that his team could not be strengthened by a number of players from abroad because the 2025 Women’s AFF Cup was not included in the FIFA calendar.
“Although this event is not part of the FIFA calendar, which means players who play abroad cannot join the team, I see this as an important opportunity for our young players to develop and gain real experience in international competition,” Ikeda was quoted as saying from

“We have a number of young players from U-20, as well as players who have entered the senior team. I am sure the experience they gained from this tournament will be an extraordinary motivation and will help strengthen the team in the long run,” Ikeda added.
Ikeda revealed that Thailand’s first target in this tournament was to qualify for the semifinals, then aim at the champions.
“First of all, I would like to thank Vietnam for his warm welcome. The main purpose of the Thai team in this tournament is to advance to the semifinals, and the final goal is to win the championship,” said Ikeda.
“We want to develop the team’s potential and help the players developing from their experiences in this tournament,” Ikeda added.
