The happy news was confirmed by Mark Studio as Ham Eun-jung’s agency on Thursday (16/10) that the couple’s wedding would be held behind closed doors.

“Ham Eun-jung will marry director Kim Byung-woo on November 30,” the agency said as reported

“After a long relationship, the two of them decided to get married. The wedding will be held behind closed doors.”
The couple, who have an age difference of eight years, did not meet through a film project as is common among couples in the film industry.They met through acquaintances in film circles, before their friendship developed into romance.

Ham Eun-jung’s marriage to Kim Byunh-woo makes them extend the line of famous Korean actor and director couples who have long fascinated the public.
One of the most famous is director Jang Joon-hwan and actress Moon So-ri.They married in December 2006.
The two first met while filming the music video for the song Tear Flower which was released in 2003. During their 18 years of marriage, they have shown creative chemistry on screen and in films.
Moon So-ri made a special appearance in Jang Joo-hwan’s political drama film, 1987: When the Day Comes (2017), and Jang Joo-hwan participated in Moon So-ri’s self-directed film, The Running Actress (2017).
Another famous couple is director Kim Tae-yong and Chinese actress Tang Wei, who met on the set of the film Late Autumn (2010).Their relationship attracted widespread attention when they married in July 2014.
Tang Wei later won the Best Actress award for film at the Baeksang Arts Awards for her performance in Late Autumn and recently collaborated again in Wonderland (2024).
However, not all director and actor relationships are free of controversy.Director Hong Sang-soo and actress Kim Min-hee, who first worked together in the film Right Now, Wrong Then in 2015, shocked the public in 2017.
They admitted that the relationship was the result of an affair.The two announced this during the promotion of On the Beach at Night Alone, their other collaboration.
The pair have since fallen out of favor in Korea, only appearing at overseas film festivals.In April 2025, they made headlines again after reportedly having a son.
Another couple, director Cho Ba-reun and actress Kim Bo-ra, met through the horror film Ghost Mansion in 2021 and married in June 2024. However, they announced their divorce less than a year later.
Although some relationships have ended, new relationships continue to attract fans.
Director Lee Chung-hyun and actress Jeon Jong-seo, who met while filming the film The Call (2020) have been openly dating since 2021.
They met again in the film Ballerina (2023) which further strengthened their reputation as a creative couple.
Lee Chung-hyun was also seen supporting Jeon Jong-seo at his father’s funeral in 2023, where he was listed among the family mourners.
Meanwhile, director Lee Ok-seop and actor Koo Kyo-hwan are one of Korean indie film’s most beloved couples.The two have collaborated on several projects, such as Maggie (2019) and Your Nation.
The pair recently appeared together on Jang Do-yeon’s YouTube show, Salon Drip 2, showing off their chemistry.
