Good news for travelers planning Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays in 2025. The government will launch a program
flight ticket
cheap which can be purchased starting October 22 2025.
This program is an anticipatory step by the government to reduce the spike in airplane ticket prices which usually occurs before the Christmas holiday period due to high demand.
Quoted from the official Instagram account of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), Monday (20/10), sales of these cheap tickets are open from 22 October 2025 to 10 January 2026. Meanwhile, price discounts apply for the flight period from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026.

Airline ticket price discounts for the Christmas period are estimated to target around 3,598,590 people, with an average price reduction of 13 to 14 percent.
Price Reduction Mechanism
This reduction in airplane ticket prices was carried out through several integrated policies, namely:
1. Reducing Fuel Surcharge: Cutting additional aviation fuel costs (fuel surcharge).
2. VAT Discount: Providing a Value Added Tax (VAT) discount for purchasing airplane tickets.
3. Cutting Airport Fees: Plan to cut rates for Aircraft Passenger Services (PJP2U) and Aircraft Landing, Placement and Storage Services (PJP4U) levied by airport operators by 50 percent.
4. Reduced Avtur Prices: Reduced aviation fuel prices by 10 percent at 37 selected airports.
Apart from discounts, the Ministry of Transportation will also provide extra services at the airport during Christmas, including extending airport operating hours to 24 hours.

Promo Rates for Other Transportation
The promotional tariff program does not only apply to airplanes, but also other transportation modes:
– Train: Ticket price discount of 30 percent from normal price for 1,509,080 passengers, valid from 22 December 2025 to 10 January 2026.
– Sea Transportation: 20 percent discount on prices and basic fares for 405,881 passengers.
– Ferry Transport: Elimination of port services in regular class and reduction of exclusive class ticket prices to regular ticket prices, effective for the period 10 December 2025 to 10 January 2025.
