Some people who visit the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (
GIIAS
) 2025 has not yet determined the category of vehicles they are looking for.This is part of the conclusions obtained from the survey of one of the exhibition participants, the Indonesian GWM.
“Although many new products were introduced at GIIAS this year, the survey also found that the majority of visitors have not yet determined the category of vehicles they are looking for,” GMW Indonesia wrote in its official statement on Sunday (3/8).
“As many as 50 percent of respondents are still in the exploration stage of various types of vehicles, while 20 percent has stated that it has made a choice on Bev vehicles, 12 percent on HEV, 11 percent on PHEV, and the other 11 percent focus on ICE vehicles,” said one of the Chinese brands.
The Indonesian GWM did not state in detail how many respondents participated in this survey, but were said to involve hundreds of respondents from tens of thousands of visitors who came to their booth at Hall 3 ICE BSD City.
Of the hundreds of respondents, it is called 54 percent of men and 46 percent of women.Then in age, generation Z 52 percent, generation X 23 percent and millennial generation 21 percent.
Background Respondents come from various professional backgrounds, ranging from students, professionals, private employees, to entrepreneurs.
Based on the survey, the new model launched by the Indonesian CEWM, 300 Diesel tanks, was selected 27 percent of respondents as the most attractive model at the GWM booth.
The next position is occupied by 300 HEV tanks and ORA 03 BEV, each 22 percent, Haval Jolion Hev 12 percent, 500 HEV tanks 11 percent and Haval H6 6 percent.
Data based on other surveys, namely respondents most want further information regarding 62 percent vehicle specifications, 60 percent promotional programs and 35 percent after sales service.
“We understand that innovation is not a multiple choice with one correct answer. Therefore, the GWM appreciates the diversity of consumer needs. We are proud that this message is well received and reflected through various visitors’ backgrounds and mobility solutions they find at the GWM booth,” said Martina Danuningrat, Strategy & Marketing Director of the Indonesian GWM, in his official statement.
During the 11 days of the Indonesian GWM exhibition, it said he received nearly 400 vehicle booking units, doubled higher than GIIAS 2025. Of the total order, around 58 percent was an order for 300 Diesel tanks, followed by Ora 03 by 25 percent.
Visitors up, the transaction value drops
Visitors of the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) jumped 6-7 percent compared to last year according to Gaikindo.Even so it is estimated that the transaction value for 11 days of the exhibition fell.
“If I see in terms of transactions, it seems that it seems somewhat down. But if we look at the economic conditions it is rather heavy,” said Gaikindo Chairman Yohannes Nangoi after the closing of GIIAS 2025 at ICE BSD, Saturday (2/8).
Gaikindo made GIIAS 2025 as a mainstay to help restore sales of new cars that landslides in the first semester. Gaikindo has decided on the target of new car sales this year 900 thousand units, while so far only reached 410,020 units in January-June 2025.
