Continue to warn people in the three regions in Kamchatka to stand by regarding the opportunity for tsunamis that might occur after the earthquake shook Kuril Island with a magnitude of 6.8.
The commemoration was delivered by the Russian Emergency Services Ministry of Message on Telegram on Sunday (3/8), shortly after the earthquake shook Kuril Island.
“The height of the wave is estimated to be low, but you still have to stay away from the beach,” the warning said.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning System that measures the earthquake power records magnitude up to 7.00, while The U.S.Geological Survey records an earthquake power 6.8.But both of them did not release a tsunami warning.

Meanwhile, Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka erupted for the first time in 600 years, as reported by the Ria News Agency on Sunday (3/8).
“This is the first Krasheninnikov eruption that was historically confirmed in 600 years,” Ria reported quoted Olga Girina, head of the Kamchatka volcano eruption team.

Mentioning these two natural events have the opportunity to be related to the large earthquake that shook the Russian Far Eastern region last week, and triggered a tsunami warning to the French and Chile Polynesia.

The ash lump is estimated to reach a height of 6,000 meters, said the Ministry of Emergency Situation Kamchatka in a upload in the Telegram.
“The lump of ash spread eastward from the volcano to the Pacific Ocean. There were no population areas along the track, and there was no ash rain recorded in inhabited areas,” the ministry was quoted as saying by AFP.
The volcano has been designated as the “Orange” flight hazard code, added the ministry, which means that flights in the region can be disrupted.
