Asian currencies vary.The Hong Kong dollar fell 0.05 percent, the Philippine peso rose 0.01 percent, and the Japanese yen fell 0.19 percent.
Then the Malaysian ringgit fell 0.01 percent, the Singapore dollar minus 0.15 percent, the South Korean won minus 0.50 percent, and the Thai baht fell 0.40 percent.
Meanwhile, the main currencies of developed countries weakened.The European euro was minus 0.07 percent, the Swiss franc fell 0.01 percent, the Australian dollar fell 0.87 percent, and the Canadian dollar fell 0.16 percent.
Doo Financial Futures analysts said the rupiah closed lower against the US dollar amid risk-off sentiment due to tensions in the China-US trade war.
“Tensions between the China-US trade war have escalated again after China imposed sanctions on five subsidiaries of South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean in the US,” he said.
