until the tiger.Check out the reason.
Aalborg Zoo, in a upload on Facebook, claimed they tried to imitate the natural food chains of animals in their supervision.
“Chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs are an important part of our predatory food,” he wrote in the post with a picture of Lynx with an open and sharp -toothed, launch

“That way, there is nothing in vain – and we ensure natural behavior, nutrition, and welfare of our predators,” added the zoo.
In its official website, the zoo said that the animals donated would be injected dead by trained staff before being served as food. This zoo is home to carnivorous predators such as Asian lions, European Lynx, and Sumatran tigers.
The request that residents surrender their pets to become lion’s meals reap controversy. In cyberspace, a number of parties protested the idea of making pets a prey, while other parties praised the efforts of this zoo in maintaining natural eating behavior.
Deputy Director of the Aalborg Zoo, Pia Nielsen, said in a statement that this initiative had been going on for years and was a usual practice in Denmark.
“For years at the Aalborg Zoo, we feed our carnivores with smaller livestock. When maintaining carnivorous, it is important to give them meat, preferred with feathers, bones, etc. to give them food as natural as possible,” Nielsen said.
“Therefore, it makes sense to allow animals to be injected to die for various reasons to be utilized in this way,” he continued.
According to Nielsen, the practice of giving pets to predators is common in Denmark.During this time, they have also received many donations such as chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and horses.
This is not the first time the zoo in Denmark has been in the spotlight on the way they feed animals and control the population.
In 2014, the Copenhagen Zoo in the Capital City of Denmark held an euthanasia on a healthy young giraffe named Marius to avoid blood marriages, even though there was a petition that tried to stop the step. The carcass is partially used for research and some to feed lions, tigers, and leopards at the zoo.
A few weeks later, public criticism re -emerged when the zoo injected to death of four lions to provide a place for a new male lion in the hope of breaking the generation of new lions.
