Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa

.
“But later we will discuss it and maybe Indonesia will send a team to China again, right, to discuss what the exact payment will be like. If that’s the case, I’ll be invited so I know what the discussion will be like,” said Purbaya at Airlangga University (Unair) Surabaya, Monday (10/11).

Purbaya responded to President Prabowo Subianto’s plan to use money confiscated from corruptors to pay the fast train debt.
Purbaya said the government was still discussing plans to use the money confiscated from the corruptors.
“It’s still being discussed, the details will still be discussed later. The only thing that exists are the broad outlines,” he said.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto stated that he was ready to pay the debt for the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) Whoosh project of around IDR 1.2 trillion per year.
Prabowo asked all parties to not only look at the issue from the size of the budget, but also the benefits for the public.
“Basically, there is no problem because we have to pay maybe Rp. 1.2 trillion per year, but the benefits are reducing traffic jams, reducing pollution, speeding up travel, all of this must be calculated,” said Prabowo at Tanah Abang Baru Station, Jakarta, Tuesday (4/11).
On the same occasion, Prabowo also said that the government would use state money confiscated from corruptors to pay Whoosh’s debt.
“The money is there. I saved the money that was previously corrupted [after being taken by the state]. I didn’t give it a chance. So, my brothers asked me all to help. Don’t give the corruptors a chance to run rampant. There will be a lot of money for us. For all the people,” said Prabowo.
