Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated that allowing humanitarian conditions in the track
Gaza
, Palestine is the same as anti-humanity.
Through the X social media platform, Petro stressed his critical view of the situation in Gaza.
“Anyone who leaves genocide means anti-humanity, even wild animals will not do such a thing,” Petro wrote in his X account, as reported by
Anadolu
.
He also shared videos featuring Palestinians gathered to the humanitarian assistance convoy.According to Petro, people who are indifferent to this situation are “Genocide Allies” and “spiritually isolated from Earth.”
Colombia itself has taken firm steps by deciding on diplomatic relations with Israel on May 3.This decision was taken in response to Israeli military operations which continued in the Gaza Strip.
Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have led to more than 63,000 Palestinians to die and destroy most of the Gaza regions, triggering hunger disasters.
At present, Israel faces lawsuits on the international stage. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against Israel’s leader Benjamin Netanyahu and former Head of Defense Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
In addition, the Zionist country also faced genocide suit in the International Court of Justice related to war in the region.
