, West Java, on Tuesday (5/8).
Manager of Communication Relations & Cid Pep Pinto Budi Bowo Laksono revealed the explosion occurred in the Removal CO2 Line Gas around 04.30 WIB.
“At 06.41 WIB the fire was successfully extinguished by the Pertamina EP emergency management team Subang Field which moved quickly to handle technical techniques by extinguishing fire sources and taking mitigation actions to control the conditions,” Pinto said in an official statement.
Pinto ensures that all steps of handling are taken according to the Standard Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) that the company enforced.
In the incident, two workers suffered burns and were fully conscious.The two victims received the first handling at Hamori Subang Hospital.
Furthermore, the victim was referred to a hospital in Jakarta for further treatment and care.
“Pertamina EP ensures the situation in the location remains safe and controlled. Pertamina EP has formed an investigation team to find out the cause of this event,” Pinto said.
In the video circulating on Instagram social media, there were two explosions accompanied by a high soaring fire.
“(Explosion) due to gas leakage,” said West Java Regional Police Head of Public Relations, Police Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, in his short message.
Hendra revealed, the chronology of the incident began when Pertamina EP employees Regional 2 Zone 7 Field Subang carried out work activities (SIF 3 as many as 8 people) heard the hiss of hissing gas leakage.
When checked by two officers, suddenly a natural gas pipeline explosion.The sound of the explosion was even heard to Kamping Babakan, Cidahu Village, Subang.
As a result of the gas leak, it resulted in 2 burn victims.Those who suffered injuries include Asep Andan (80 percent burns) GSK 1 Cilaja and Andi Irawan (9 percent burns) address Cidahu (in the Plant Co² Removal Room).
