Arrested on Sunday (3/8) after a 2 -year -old girl was found trapped in the suitcase she was carrying while traveling.
The police were called to a bus terminal in Kaiwaka, about 100 kilometers north of Auckland, after a bus driver was worried to see a bag moving when the bus stopped.
“When the driver opened the suitcase, they found the 2 -year -old girl,” said Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, as reported by

, Sunday (3/8).
“The little girl reportedly felt very hot, but physically it looked unjured,” he continued.
According to the police, the suitcase was kept in a separate compartment under the bus passenger seat.Harrison said the girl was now in the hospital to undergo a comprehensive medical examination.
The 27 -year -old woman was arrested and charged with child abuse and neglect.Harrison said further indictment might be given.
The police still have not released the relationship between women and children.The woman is scheduled to attend the North Shore District Court on Monday (4/8).
“We want to appreciate and praise the bus driver, who realizes something is wrong and immediately take action,” Harrison said.
“That prevents what can be something far worse,” he added.
