According to the statement of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (Norad), the civilian aircraft flew into the temporary flight ban (TFR) zone set around the Trump location.
Norad confirmed that his fighter jet escorted the civilian aircraft out of a limited area after first releasing flare (flare) to attract the attention of the pilot.
“Flares is used by considering maximum safety both for intercepted aircraft and people on land,” said Norad’s statement.They also emphasized that flares will burn out quickly, so as not to endanger the surrounding community.
Two violations in a day
Norad said this incident was the second on the same day, with a total of five airspace violations on the weekend.In this second incident, the flare released was seen by the public.
Norad again reminded the importance of compliance with limited airspace renewal for all civil pilots.
“All pilots are reminded to always verify all flight notifications (Notam) from the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) and use Fly Informed before flight,” said Norad.
Specifically for the Bedminster area, Norad mentioned four applicable notams, namely Notam 9839, 9840, 9841, and 9842.
“Complying with a limited airspace protocol from FAA is mandatory, without exception, both in terms of geographical location, type of aircraft, and the crew crew,” he added.
Trump is not at the location
According to the President’s schedule, Donald Trump himself is known to be not at the location when the incident occurred.
He was reported to be at Trump’s national golf club in Bedminster, and was scheduled to return to the White House on Sunday night local time.
