OJK asks banks to block 25 thousand accounts, why?

The Head of the OJK Banking Supervisory Executive Dian Ediana Rae said the account data was based on the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi).
“OJK has asked banks to block less 25,912 accounts from data submitted by the Ministry of Communication and Digital,” said Dian at the RDKB press conference in June 2025 virtually, Monday (4/8).
Dian said that the OJK continued to develop reports from Komdigi by asking the bank to close the account in accordance with the population identity (KTP) and implement the Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).
As a systematic and organized cyber threat increased, the OJK also asked banks to increase vigilance and strengthen capabilities.
“By monitoring at any time of the anomaly of financial transactions that have the potential to fraud,” he said.
In April, Dian said that OJK had asked the bank to block 10,016 accounts related to Judol.He said Judol had a broad impact on the economy and the financial sector.
“OJK has asked banks to block (against) approximately 10,016 accounts (related to online gambling),” Dian said at the March 2025 RDKB press conference virtually, Friday (11/4).
