Although it has launched a variety of AI -powered features last year under the umbrella of Apple Intelligence, the increase promised by the company for his voice assistant, Siri, has been significantly delayed.Cook seems to admit that the company has been lagging behind its competitors.
According to Gurman, Apple has now secretly formed the “Answers, Knowledge, and Information” team, which is also known as AKI.The AKI team was headed by Robby Walker, a senior director at Apple who reported to John Giannandrea, Apple’s senior vice president for Machine Learning and AI.
Robby was moved to the Aki Team after a reshuffle after the delay of the Siri feature.Gurman said the purpose of this team was quite simple, namely to build “search experiences such as new chatgpt.”
Gurman said this initiative was still in the early stages, but Apple already had a list of jobs posted for engineers.Not many details are known about this.
This team is only known to be working on a system to crawling search results and give answers instead of directing people directly to the search results.
This “Answering Machine”, as Gurman, will be able to crawling the web to gather information and respond to questions like those who do chatgpt.
An independent application and a backend infrastructure plan to support everything may be in the process.
