in broad daylight yesterday.The house caught fire minutes after his wife went outside.
Khamozaro admitted that he was presiding over the trial when he received news from his neighbor at around 10.41 WIB, Tuesday (4/11).

“At that time I was in court at the Medan District Court. My neighbor called me, but because it was still in court so I didn’t pick up. I replied via WhatsApp, saying I was in court. Then I answered, saying ‘your house is on fire’,” said Khamozaro, Wednesday (5/11).
Khamozaro immediately left the courtroom and rushed home.He rode a motorbike to his house in the Taman Harapan Indah Complex, Jalan Pasar II, Tanjung Sari Village, Medan Selayang District, Medan City.
“I was immediately shocked. I immediately gave permission from security, I rode a motorbike from the office. When I arrived, people were already busy, the door of the house had been broken down to put out the fire,” he said.
The fire occurred about 20 minutes after his wife left the house.At the time of the incident, the house was empty.According to him, the rooms that burned were the bedroom, kitchen and part of the living room.
“What burned was the master bedroom. Everything was gone, I didn’t even have my office clothes anymore. In the afternoon I was forced to buy new clothes to wear today, and so did my wife,” he said.
Apart from clothes, a number of important documents were burned, including personnel documents, his wife’s jewelry collected over decades, and documents belonging to children.
“The police have come, I have also made a report. Hopefully it can be followed up,” he said.
Khamozaro Waruwu was the presiding judge in the trial of alleged corruption in a road project in North Sumatra with the defendant Akhirun Piliang alias Kirun, Main Director of PT Dalihan Natolu Group (DNG), and his son Muhammad Rayhan Dulasmi Piliang alias Rayhan, Director of PT Rona Na Mora (RNM).
This case also involved the former Head of the North Sumatra PUPR Service, Topan Ginting, who is known to be a close person to the Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution.This case is the result of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Hand Arrest Operation (OTT), and is currently being processed in the Corruption Court at the Medan District Court.
During the trial, judge Khamozaro Waruwu ordered the KPK prosecutor to present North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution as a witness in the trial.Because it was revealed that there had been a shift in the budget from a number of agencies in the North Sumatra Provincial Government to the PUPR Service of the North Sumatra Provincial Government which was used as the basis for the road construction budget.
