Unable to hold back tears while remembering former Portugal national team player, Jorge Costa.
Costa died of a heart attack while monitoring FC Porto’s training on Tuesday (5/8) local time.The man who served as Director of Porto Football was a club legend based in Estadio Do Dragao.

“Jorge is one of the people who do everything and let the coach do his job. That is perfection for a coach when his captain does this work. Of course, I am very sad part of my history.”
Mourinho and Costa once worked together in Porto in the 2000s.Mourinho’s collaboration with Costa who served as the captain of the team with the 2004 Champions League title.
In addition to winning the Champions League title, Porto won the Portuguese League and Portugal Cup title.Treble Winners became a beautiful story in Porto’s history.
Jorge Costa died at the age of 53 years.The man who spent almost all his football career with Porto died of a heart attack.
This tragic event occurred at the Olival training center, Vila Nova De Gaia, Portugal as reported by Euro News.Costa suddenly felt unhealthy and collapsed on the field around 09.00 local time.
The Porto medical team immediately gave first aid using a defibrillator, before he was rushed to Sao Joao Hospital in Porto in critical condition.
However, rescue efforts were unsuccessful, and Costa was declared dead from a heart attack, which was allegedly related to his heart problem history in 2022. At that time, Costa who collected 50 caps with the Portugal national team underwent catheterization procedures for arrhythmia.
