In his considerations, Deputy Chair of the DPR MKD from the Gerindra faction, Imron Amin, revealed a number of reasons why the five inactive members were not permanently fired.
They each received inactive sanctions for different durations of time between 3-6 months starting from their deactivation by their party.
In detail, Sahroni was sanctioned with six months of inactivity, Nafa Urbach for three months, and Eko Patrio for four months.Meanwhile, the remaining two, namely Uya Kuya and Adies Kadir, have had their membership reactivated.
“Listening to witnesses and experts in the trial, the MKD conveyed the following considerations,” said Imron at the verdict hearing.
First, Imron said that after asking witnesses for information, there was wrong information regarding the issue of increasing DPR salaries and allowances.Including the dancing action of the contestants at the MPR Annual Session and the joint session of the DPR and DPD on 15 August.
Second, according to Imron, the dancing performed by a number of members during the trial, including Eko Patrio and Uya Kuya, was an appreciation of the performance of the Defense University Orchestra (Unhan).
“At that time the DPR members danced because they appreciated the Defense University students, who sang regional songs, not because they celebrated the announcement of a salary increase for DPR members,” said Imron.
“At that time there was no announcement at all about increasing DPR salaries,” he added.
Third, MKD, said Imron, was of the opinion that the misinformation had caused public anger at the DPR.Including the defendants.
Quoting the statements of a number of experts, namely criminologist Adrianus Meliala, sociologist Trubus Rahardinsyah, social media expert Ismail Fahmi, and legal expert Setya Arinanto in the previous trial on Monday (3/11), Imron said the statements were in accordance with each other.
Therefore, continued Imron, MKD was of the opinion that incorrect information spread on social media had given rise to wrong perceptions among the defendant.
“Considering that the complainants have withdrawn their complaints, the Court is of the opinion that the matters that the complainants complained about are becoming clearer and clearer, based on the fake news received by the complainants,” said Imron.
