Proof of the Malaysian Football Association (FAM) falsified documents against seven naturalized players tarnished the country’s image.
The evidence was revealed by FIFA on Tuesday (7/10).The evidence is shown that the seven naturalized players of the Malaysian national team did not have grandfather or grandmother born in Malaysia.

“Although FAM has issued a statement stating that it is a technical error, their staff mistakes, all of that need to be corrected because the 19-page statement contains a very serious statement from FIFA, which tarnished the image of the state,” said Hannah Yeoh after welcoming the ats of para-aathetic after appearing in the World Para-Aatletic Championship 2025.
“And I also understand that all local soccer fans are of course angry, disappointed, and want to see improvements,” Hannah added.
Hannah also mentioned that the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports was consistently waiting for the FAM appeal process to FIFA to be completed before issuing an official statement.
“Fam must complete this appeal process before we make a special announcement, because the appeal process hasn’t been completed.”
“After the basic verdict, I was told that FAM had three days to declare his intention to appeal, followed by five days to file an appeal,” said Hannah.
Hannah hopes that supporters continue to provide support to the Malaysian national team who will perform in the 2027 Asian Cup qualification against Laos, 9 and 14 October.
On September 26 FIFA gave a sentence to FAM in the form of a fine of 350,000 Swiss francs or equivalent to Rp7.3 billion for falsifying the documents of naturalized players.
Meanwhile, seven Malaysian naturalized players, Gabriel Felipe Arrocha, Facundo Garces, Rodrigo Holgado, Imanol Machuca, Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal, and Hector Hevel were also sentenced
