He shared the news when a fan asked about Gunn’s busy schedule after the Superman promo tour was over.The DC Studios boss then admitted that he returned to join the Peacemaker Season 2 series promo and worked on a “sequel.”

The answer was confusing Gunn’s followers.Fan found James Gunn once claimed to be writing a DC Universe (DCU) project with Superman as one of the main actors.
But this time, he actually gave a signal to write a Superman sequel project.James Gunn then clarified by confirming that the project currently being worked on was the same as the previous plan, not Superman 2.

The news was distributed by James Gunn in the middle of the superman (2025) which was still available in theaters.The film was the opening of the DC Universe, Reboot DC Studios franchise led by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
David Corenswet was chosen as Superman after being elected through a long audition process.The film also stars Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, to Isabela Merced.

Meanwhile, James Gunn and Peter Safran have announced projects in the Saga DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters opened by Superman (2025).
Chapter One will be followed by Supergirl (2026) and Clayface (2026), followed by The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, to the Wonder Woman project.
There are also the Teen Titans, Bane and Deathstroke, and SGT projects.Rock which is still in the development stage.
