Lawyers from nine defendants in private company officials asked the Attorney General’s Office (

) stop the prosecution of a case of alleged corruption in imports of sugar after abolition former Minister of Trade

“Yes, today we from the legal counsel of nine private importers will ask the Prosecutor’s Office CQ of the Public Prosecutor so that the indictment of the nine private importers be withdrawn, revoked from the Central Jakarta District Court or Judge because his position stops the case and crossed the case from the list of cases,” said Hotman Paris who represented at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday (5/7).
Hotman explained that the request was sent because in the Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the granting of abolition to Tom Lembong mentioned the termination of the process and legal consequences.
“What legal process? Yes, cases of sugar, cases of sugar imports,” he said.
Hotman believes that the Attorney General’s Office should have succeeded the President Prabowo Subianto’s program who gave abolition and amnesty to prisoners or convicts.
“Only from there it is already for the law of all related cases, this sugar case must be stopped,” he said.
Another representative Soesilo Aribowo added that the criminal element participated in Article 55 paragraph 1 of the 1st KUHP died by giving abolition to Tom Lembong.
“Now using general logic. If the main perpetrators have been eliminated, the case has been stopped, the group that participated in the assessor is automatically also dead,” said Soesilo.
The defendants from the private sector who are still undergoing legal proceedings are the President Director of PT Angels Products since 2003-present Tony Wijaya;Director of PT Makassar Tene Since 2006 Then Surianto Eka Prasetyo;President Director of PT Sentra Busahatama Jaya since 2013 Hansen Setiawan.
Then the President Director of PT Medan Sugar Industry since 2012 Indra Suryaningrat;President Director of PT Permata Dunia Main Sukses since 2015 Eka Sapanca;President Director of PT Andalan Furnindo since 2015 Wisnu Hendraningrat.
Furthermore, the Authority of the Directors of PT Duta Sugar International since 2016 Hendrogiarto A. Tiwow;President Director of PT Berkah Manis Makmur since 2012 Hans Falita Hutama;and President Director of PT Kebun Tebu Mas Ali Sandjaja Boedidarmo.
