Priyanto said there were 10 former members of the Barelang Police and two civilians who had been completed through the appeal session at the Riau Islands High Court.
He said that only two former members of the Barelang Police were decided to appeal the death penalty namely former Kasat and former Kanit Satresnarkoba Barelang Police.
While 8 other members of the Barelang Police, namely the Barelang Police Narcotics Satres namely Rahmadani, Fadhilah, Wan Rahmat, Ariyanto, Junaidi, Alex Chandra, Ibnu Ma’ruf Rambe, and Jaka Surya, were decided for life.
For civilians, Erdenwakli Simanjuntak and Azis Martua Siregar who are drug dealers who were embezzled by members of the Narcotics Narcotics, by the High Court were decided by 20 years in prison.
“In addition to 10 police officers who appealed, two civilians involved were sentenced to 20 years in prison,” he said.
He added, the 12 defendants had an appeal after a decision from the Riau Islands High Court for 12 days after the verdict was issued.
