Jumah reviewed the location of the Musala collapsed at Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School in Buduran, Sidoarjo, Tuesday (30/9).
Gus Yahya stated that quick steps had been taken to ensure the victims and santri guardians received full attention.The handling of the collapse of the musala is carried out through collaboration between NU and various elements, including local governments.
“This we have coordinated with PCNU and all service units owned, including RSI Siti Hajar, for example, this has been coordinated, because I think that in the NU element it is organic,” said Gus Yahya while reviewing the scene, Tuesday (30/9).

“All NU elements all immediately take steps and coordinate with each other. From a number of the nearest pesantren also immediately came assistance,” he said.
He explained that coordination did not only involve the process of searching for victims that had not been completed, but also about the care of santri that had been found and now being treated at the hospital, as well as handling the needs of the santri guardians who were waiting at the location.
“This is a matter of searching that is still unfinished, there is a matter of current care that has been found and now in the hospital, about the santri guardians who are waiting here, and so on this must be coordinated. And also must be considered how the facilities for the santri guardians are now here too,” he said.
According to Gus Yahya, all elements will sit together to ensure that the handling steps run precisely and thoroughly.He also expressed his gratitude to the local government who immediately intervened since the disaster occurred.
“Everything we will sit together later. Thank you to the provincial government and also immediately acted to make efforts. Thank you Mr. Deputy Governor, the Regent. We God willing will continue to be in the right coordination,” he said.
Gus Yahya conveyed a message to the family and guardians of the santri who were victims of the collapse of the musala that this disaster must be faced with fortitude and interpreted as a form of attention and love of Allah SWT to His servants.
“To the saints of santri, we ask for fortitude, we give consolation, we make sure to all receive this disaster,” said Gus Yahya.
He asserted, this event was not just a disaster, but could be seen as a test that contained wisdom.In fact, he considered the death of santri in a state of worship was a gift in itself.
“We are sure, I am sure this is a sign of the attention of Allah SWT to all of us,” he said.
As is known, the three -storey musala building in the Putra Pondok Pesantren Al Khoziny Dormitory in Buduran, Sidoarjo, collapsed, Monday (29/9) afternoon.
At the time of the incident, it was found that there were dozens to hundreds of students were carrying out the Asr prayer in congregation in the musala which was still in the development stage.
Based on data from the Surabaya SAR Office until Tuesday morning, there were 100 santri victims in this incident.Of these, 99 people were rescued, where 8 people were evacuated by the joint SAR team and 91 people conducted an independent evacuation after the incident.Meanwhile, one of them was reported to have died.
