A number of activists deported from Israel even accused Israeli troops of treating Thunberg poorly.
Turkish journalist as well as a Gaza Sumud fleet participant, Ersin Celik, told local media that he witnessed Israeli forces “torturing Greta Thunberg”.
Celik even described how Thunberg was “dragged on the ground” and “forced to kiss the Israeli flag” by the Zionist army.
Meanwhile, Malaysian activist Hazwani Helmi and GSF fleet participant from the United States, Windfield Beaver, gave a similar testimony at Istanbul Airport. They said that Thunberg was pushed harshly and exhibited while being shrouded in the Israeli flag.
“It’s a disaster. They treat us like animals,” Helmi said, adding that prisoners were not given food, clean water, or medicines.
Beaver also said that Thunberg was “treated very badly” and “used as a propaganda tool,” Remembering how he was pushed into a room when the National Security Minister of Right Wing, Itamar Ben-Gvir, entered.
There is another Italian journalist Lorenzo Agostino, who is also in the fleet, also emphasized that the bad treatment experienced by Thunberg.
“Greta Thunberg, a brave woman, was only 22 years old. She was insulted, wrapped in an Israeli flag, and was shown like a trophy,” he told Anadolu.
Other testimonies describe more severe treatment from Israeli soldiers.Turkish television presenter, Ikbal Gurpinar, said the Israeli troops “treated us like dogs.”
“They let us starve for three days. They did not give us water; we were forced to drink from the toilet … that day was very hot, and we were almost burning,” Gurpinar said as quoted

.
He added that the experience gave him “better understanding of Gaza’s condition.”
Meanwhile, Turkish activist Aycin Kantoglu tells about the blood walls covered in blood and messages from previous prisoners.
“We see mothers write the names of their children on the wall. We really feel a little of what is experienced by Palestinians,” he said.
A total of 137 passengers of dozens of GSF ship fleets that were deported landed in Istanbul on Saturday, including 36 Turkish citizens and activists from the United States, Italy, Malaysia, Kuwait, Switzerland, Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, and a number of other countries.
Italian parliament member Arturo Scotto became one of the foreign national politicians who participated in the GSF fleet.
Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, said that as many as 26 Italians had been deported, while 15 others were still being detained in Israel waiting for the repatriation process.
Israel increasingly faced international criticism after its navy intercepted around 40 GSF ships carrying aid to Gaza and held more than 450 people in it.
The critics assessed that the attack reiterated the illegality of the Israeli blockade, which had decided to access 2.3 million Gaza in the middle of the war.
Meanwhile, the GSF fleet launched at the end of August was the latest international effort to penetrate the siege of Israel and distribute assistance to Palestinians.
