The incident occurred on August 2, 2025 on the Lion Air JT-308 airline flight on the Jakarta-Kualanamu route.The screaming of a bomb from the man caused a flight delay for more than three hours.

Saying the word “bombing” or joking about carrying bombs on a plane or airport is an action that is strictly prohibited because it endangers flight safety.
Based on Article 437 of Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation, conveying false information that threatens flight safety can be subject to a maximum imprisonment of 1 year.
If the action causes accidents or loss of property, punishment increases to 8 years in prison, and if it causes death, the perpetrators are threatened with 15 years in prison.
In addition to criminal sanctions, the perpetrators can be included in the Blacklist (
Blacklist
) Airlines, which prohibit them from flying with the airline or even certain airline groups, such as Lion Air Group.

These passengers can be permanent and have an impact on criminal records, making it difficult for perpetrators in matters such as work or visa management.
Previously, the bomb threat case also occurred on June 17, when the Saudia Airlines SV-5726 Jeddah-Central Jakarta route in the air aircraft.The threat forced the plane to make an emergency landing at Kualanamu Airport.
Although no bombs were found, this incident disturbed hundreds of passengers.Actions like this not only harm the airline, but also disturb the comfort and safety of other passengers.
