New satellite imagery shows a number of barges

move closer to a similar area

Reporting the Skyfi satellite image service on July 27 captured a picture of three barges in the Nantu Island area in Zhejiang Province.The three barges are there with a fujian class tanker owned by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
The existence of this Chinese barge was detected by MT Anderson’s open-source analyst who said that the three barges were there to conduct verification tests.
According to the Think Tank Globsec Bryce Barros analyst, the selection of Nantu Island as a deliberate test location was carried out because the region has a terrain that is very similar to the northeast coastal area of the capital of Taiwan, Taipei.
“This reflects the deliberate efforts to simulate the northeast coastline of Taiwan, especially areas such as Yilan County and New Taipei County,” Barros told

“This shows that PLA might be preparing to be able to quickly lower vehicles, troops, and supplies near the capital if the base was successfully secured,” he continued.
These barges were first reported by Naval News last January.They were built in the Guangzhou shipyard by CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering Company (Comec).
Comec provides a re -filling oil tanker and other supporting ships for PLA.
The barge, nicknamed Shuiqiao, is famous for his legs that can be lifted and the bridge that extends is almost 122 meters.These features allow several barges to be connected to form a long stretch.
Shuiqiao barge functions as a temporary pontoon (bridge buffer).Tank and armored vehicles transported to the coast by roll-on/roll-off ships China can cross the bridge supported by barges to anchor further to the destination area.
