He said Bgn was concerned about the poisoning experienced by hundreds of students after eating MBG.
Tigor admitted that his arrival to Kupang to conduct an internally evaluation and check the system and management of food in the kitchen or Nutrition Services Unit (SPPG).He said the mistakes that made the mass poisoning incident had to be corrected so that similar cases were not repeated later on.
“We do internal introspection first, why this can happen, because the kitchen or SPPG that does the service (MBG to SMPN 8) has been running from February 17, 2025,” Tigor said.
He explained that SPPG Kelapa Lima 1 as a MBG provider for students of SMP Negeri 8 Kupang City will be carried out thoroughly evaluations.The evaluation was carried out in accordance with the operational standards and technical instructions owned by BGN for all SPPG in MBG services.
“One of the technical instructions is to ensure that food must be correct, must be good, must be fresh, that is the first,” Tigor said.
And, the food will be seen and discussed in more detail with the SPPG.
As for the second is the processing of food ingredients into food ingredients will also be seen until the delivery process.
“We also see how the delivery, distribution, because this is all chains where in the chain there may be contamination from these foods, so we evaluate one by one,” he said.
He said the improvement made internally on the SPPG that served the MBG would also be evaluated every day, especially in the process of feeding.
Previously the case of mass poisoning hundreds of students of SMP Negeri 8 Kupang City after eating MBG occurred on Tuesday (7/22).There are about 200 students experiencing stomach pain, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and some even shortness of breath so that they must be rushed to three hospitals.
The case of mass poisoning also occurred in Southwest Sumba on Wednesday (7/23), there were 77 students from three schools namely SMK Negeri 2 Tambolaka City, Don Bosco Vocational School and SMA Negeri 1 Tambolaka City who experienced work after eating MBG on Wednesday (7/23) morning. ‘
Dozens of students finally had to be rushed to two hospitals and one puskesmas to receive medical treatment.
