Chairperson of the Indonesian Truck Entrepreneurs Association (API), Suroso instructed all truck drivers to fly
red and white flag
Ahead of the 80th anniversary of Indonesian Independence August 17.
This was conveyed by Suroso in a press conference after a meeting with the DPR and government representatives at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (4/8).
Suroso said that every driver who did not follow the instructions the risk would be borne by themselves, including if the government took decisive action.
“For the flag, we have agreed and have shared, please, the flag whose name is commemorating the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, we as chairman, instruct the red and white flag,” said Suroso.
“Anyone who does not follow the organizational rules, the risk is borne by themselves, if the government needs to take firm action,” he added.
Suroso said that his party had also held an internal organization meeting and agreed that every driver must obey the law.The association, said Suroso, instructed every driver to install a red and white flag both at the fleet and at home.

Lately, social media has been enlivened by the phenomenon of some residents from various regions that raised the One Piece flag ahead of the celebration of the Republic of Indonesia Independence Day.
One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda.The manga series which tells the adventure of Monkey D. Luffy to be the king of pirates was published since July 22, 1997 until now.
Latest, Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai said the state could prohibit the flag raising because it was considered to violate the law as well as a form of treason.
According to him, the prohibition is in line with international rules regarding the rights of the state in taking a stand on certain issues concerning national integrity and state stability.
“The prohibition of raising the flag is an effort of the importance of maintaining national symbols as a form of respect for the state,” Pigai said in a written statement, Sunday (3/8).
