).However, the company will still carry out further research to ensure suitability for the country’s fuel characteristics.
Head of Product Jaecoo Indonesia Ryan Ferdiean said that technically their car engines already support the use of bioethanol, but he said it is still in the development stage in China.
“If our engine can reach E10, we can, that’s the only development in China. We have to confirm when the government decides to use Ethanol E10,” said Ryan in Jakarta, Monday (3/11).

“We are observing what fuel is like in Indonesia, whether there are any adjustments, we will study it,” he said.
Jaecoo ensures that the use of Pertamax Green or fuel with 5 percent ethanol content does not cause problems for its product range.
“Pertamax Green is no problem. All petrol cars can do it, J7 and J8,” he said.
The government will apply E10 to all domestic gasoline products starting in 2027. Meanwhile, for diesel, Biodiesel B50 will be implemented in 2026.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said mandatory E10 had been discussed with President Prabowo Subianto and it had been agreed to implement it.
E10 aims to reduce domestic oil imports by utilizing abundant natural resources. One of them is from sugar cane plants to be used as ethanol.
Based on the portion, currently 60 percent of fuel used for consumption still comes from imports. Therefore, for domestic energy independence, the government must use the resources it has.
Apart from reducing imports, added Bahlil, mandatory E10 also aims to support the commitment to environmentally friendly clean energy or Net Zero Emission (NZE) by 2060.
“In this way, we will mix our gasoline with ethanol. The aim is, so that we don’t import a lot and also to make clean, environmentally friendly oil,” he explained.
Bahlil estimates that its implementation could take effect in the next 2-3 years or in 2027 or 2028.
