Indonesia to fly to 5.12 percent in the second quarter of 2025.
“Where there is (economic growth data game),” Denies Airlangga found at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (5/8).
He then answered public doubts with data recorded by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).For example, people’s consumption of people growing around 4.97 percent.
Airlangga stressed that household consumption data contributed 54 percent to Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the second quarter of 2025.
“Then, investment grew 6.99 percent; transactions in retail increased, (transactions) electronic money (increased) 6.26 percent; then (transactions) Marketplace grows Quarter to Quarter (QTQ) 7.55 percent,” he explained.
“Then, from the trip, as a result we make policies. Both (ticket discounts) aircraft, trains, or toll roads. That is the journey of domestic tourists growing 22.3 percent, foreign tourists grow 23.32 percent,” added Airlangga.
President Prabowo Subianto’s subordinate also explained the absorption of labor in Indonesia. He stressed that nearly 3.6 million jobs were created thanks to Indonesia’s economic growth.
Previously, BPS reported the Indonesian economy in the second quarter of 2025 based on the amount of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) based on the current price of Rp5,947 trillion. While GDP based on a constant price of Rp3,396.3 trillion.
That made the Indonesian economy in the second quarter of 2025 grew 5.12 percent year on year (yoy). The Indonesian economy is also claimed to rise 4.04 percent quarter to quarter (QTQ).
These data surprised economists. They initially estimated that Indonesia’s economic growth would not penetrate 5 percent, even predicted under the first quarter of 2025 which was 4.87 percent. However, BPS data actually said differently.
“Our economy is still solid. Plans in semester II (2025) we target targets at 5.2 percent can be achieved,” said Airlangga.
“What was announced this morning (economic growth), Alhamdulillah we returned to the 5 percent, 5.12 percent. Indonesia was only under China which was 5.2 percent,” he continued.
