In a series of trials on laboratory mice, researchers see the possibility of this vaccine to be developed.Vaccines are found to be able to raise an immune system to attack tumors and inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
Rats with skin cancer are involved in this study.In mice with a tumor that is resistant to treatment, the combination of the vaccine works well.
Researchers also test vaccines in mice with brain cancer and bone cancer that has metastasized.Vaccines were found to show promising anti-cancer effects.
At present, studies focus on solid tumors, which tend to be more resistant to immunotherapy than blood cancer.
“But I think this can be used for all types of cancer. I am sure this is a universal vaccine that can be used to treat cancer,” said the author of Elias Sayour studies, pediatric oncologists from the University of Florida Health.
In particular, Sayour also sees, the vaccine can be applied as a secondary prevention, which is to help prevent cancer cells from growing again after being treated.
At present, Sayour and his colleagues have launched a vaccine trial in humans with a specialized specialized approach.The vaccine will be tested in patients with two types of recurrent cancer, namely Glioma and Osteosarcoma.
