PBSI officially appointed Harry Hartono as assistant coach of the main men’s singles
Pelatnas PBSI
replacing Marleve Mainaky who resigned, Monday (4/8).
“Marleve Mainaky decided to resign for personal reasons. His position will be replaced by Coach Harry Hartono,” said Head of Binpres PP PBSI, Eng Hian, in an official statement.
Marleve actually just joined the ranks of PBSI coaches in early 2025, when the men’s singles sector was still led by Mulyo Handoyo.
After Mulyo resigned and only became the head of the PBSI coach, the position of the chief coach of the men’s singles filled by Indra Wijaya, with Marleve still accompanied as an assistant.
PBSI chose Harry Hartono as a substitute for Marleve because it was considered to have qualified experience in the men’s singles sector.
“We chose Harry because he already had the competence as a men’s singles coach and also had the experience of becoming an assistant coach of the PBSI Pelatnas Men’s Chief Coach, which at that time Irwansyah was the head of his coach.”
“In addition, the athletes of course have also been familiar with Coach Harry. I hope that the collaboration of Indra and Harry can produce a proud achievement of Indonesia,” Eng Hian added.
Harry Hartono had previously served as an assistant coach of the men’s singles in 2023-2024.Harry was one of a number of well -known coaches who left the PBSI Pelatnas at the end of 2024.
Besides Harry Hartono, the coach who left the PBSI Pelatnas at the end of 2024 was Irwansyah, Aryono Miranat, and Herry Iman Piergadi.
