The majority of animal traders in
Barito Market
,
South Jakarta
, chose to stay at their kiosk until the last day ahead of relocation, Sunday (3/8).
They claimed not to have received an official letter from the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta for the relocation process.
“Because there is no official letter from the government, which means that this is told to be emptied like that, yes we continue to trade first,” said Chairman of the Barito Trader Association, Karno at the location.
Based on the observation of shesocialIndonesia.com, there has been no movement from traders to leave their stalls.
The traders are still selling as usual while voicing their attitudes over the relocation decision.
They claimed not to reject the relocation process. However, they questioned the official letter from the government.
On the other hand, they also protested because a replacement stall in the Lenteng Agung area, South Jakarta has not been built.
“So the traders want even if they are relocated, please be built there first. Until it’s finished. Tutis this kind of one that is there. Then we moved there,” he said.
“Now if there has not been built there, it has been emptied here, then our traders want to go where. The question is,” Karno added.
