Want young Indonesian players to be able to play abroad to develop better.
At present a number of Indonesian players play abroad, such as Asnawi Mangkualam and Pratama Arhan in the Thai League, there are also Marselino Ferdinan in the Kosovo League, and M Ramadhan Sananta in the Malaysian League.
Kluivert revealed this because of his experience playing in Europe and also had been the management of the age group before training the Indonesian national team.
The Dutch coach developed and achieved success with Ajax Amsterdam. He has also played for top clubs like Barcelona and AC Milan.
“In Europe, high tempo, tight pressing, narrow space. That makes players develop faster,” Kluivert said in the Podcast The Haye Way.
“In Indonesia, the LIGA is good, extraordinary fans, but of course there are differences in the intensity and quality of the opponent,” Kluivert added.
In training, Kluivert once handled the young Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Barcelona.Through that experience, Kluivert believes Indonesian players will develop if playing abroad.
“Therefore, for young players, if there is an opportunity abroad, it is a very valuable experience,” Kluivert said.
According to Kluivert, Indonesian players can directly play in Europe or other leagues in Asia, including the Australian League.Sergio van Dijk and Rafael Struick there are Indonesian players who have played in the Australian League.
“It depends on the individual and opportunity. If you can go directly to Europe, just go ahead. But if you have to go through Australia first, it is also no problem,” Kluivert said.
