In a demonstration that led to seven people nationally.
“Indeed, there are seven people who died nationally. For serious injuries, there have been nine people who have been assessments. But actually there are more than that, because there are still victims who had been treated and then returned,” said Gus Ipul in Makassar, Friday (5/9).
In addition to casualties and injuries, a number of community efforts were also affected throughout the demonstration at the end of August.He ensured that the government would provide assistance to them.
“Indeed there are some damaged people -owned businesses, we will also help this,” he said.
Gus Ipul asserted that his party was still collecting data on the victims still ongoing.
“I am sure that in the next few days there will be additional, because all we are based on data that has been verified in the field,” he said.
Gus Ipul also claimed to have taken the time to visit the wounded victims who were still undergoing treatment.
“From here I will visit one of the victims at the hospital. Last night I also went to the National Police Hospital in Jakarta to see officers who were still being treated. I saw that it was quite serious, but it had improved because it was handled very well,” he explained.
Gus Ipul said he was moved to see the enthusiasm of the victims to recover immediately, so he could move as usual.
“They look enthusiastic and not despair. It makes me very touched, extraordinary,” he said.
Meanwhile the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) recorded 10 people died during the wave of demonstrations last week.Some victims were allegedly dead due to violence and torture by the authorities.
“So far, at least 10 victims have died,” said Chairman of the National Commission on Human Rights Anis Hidayah at a press conference at his office, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/9).
On the other hand the commission for missing persons and victims of violence (contrast) noted that at least eight people were missing after a wave of demonstrations that occurred at the end of August until early September.
“As of September 3, 2025 at 19.10 WIB, the total number of people who was still missing was 8 people,” said Head of Kontras Impunity Monitoring Division, Jane Rosalina, when contacted on Thursday (4/9) evening.
